On December 26, 2013 we bicycled on the northern section of the Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail through Tarpon Springs. Be aware that Florida law requires bicyclists to wear helmets.

Parking lot at Tarpon Springs Youth Soccer fields We parked in a small soccer park near the trail. From Rt 582/ E. Tarpon Ave. turn north onto N. Jasmine Ave. Turn right at E. Orange St to access the parking area. From the parking area we rode our bikes 2 blocks north on N. Jasmine Ave. and picked up the trail at Melon St.

Tunnel The Pinellas trail goes through a tunnel under rt. 19.
Bridge Over The Anclote River Shortly after passing under rt. 19 you will come to an entrance to the Anclote River Nature Park on your right.

Anclote Park Parking Lot Location
Anclote River Park Parking There is a parking lot for the Anclote River Park at 550 Old Dixie Hwy., but be aware that the parking lot gates do close in the evening and cars will be towed.

Tarpon Springs Trail Looking South After 4 miles we entered Tarpon Springs. The trail here follows the old track down the center of the street.

Conservation Park Seven miles into our ride we came to the Conservation Park Water reclamation Facility.

Wall Springs Park Map There are lots of walking/biking paths, picnic areas, bathrooms and a butterfly garden here.

Driftwood Bench There are a number of benches made from diftwood throughout the park.
Gulf of Mexico There is an observation deck to look out towards the Gulf of Mexico.
Leave the Dolphins Alone! Unfortunately there were no dolphins to watch on the day that we visited.
Cormorant This cormorant was drying it's wings near the observation deck.
Turn Around Point We turned around at the Sutherland Bayou Boat Ramp on Mast Lane.
Pelicans But not before riding over to the waters edge to watch the pelicans.
