York Heritage Trail

On June 22, 2013, we returned to the Heritage Trail and bicycled from Brillhart Station in Pennsylvania to the Mason Dixon Line and back. Our odometers showed a total distance of 35.1 miles. I really enjoy this ride which runs next to a working railroad and the farmlands that you pass are beautiful. There are many picnic tables and benches along the route for taking breaks. While there are a number of road crossings along the trail, none were very busy.

There are indoor bathrooms at Hanover Junction and New Freedom and portapotties at Brillhart Station and Railroad.
Heritage Trail

We accessed the Brillhart Station parking area from I-83 by taking the exit #14 (Leader Heights Rd.) Continue on west on Leaders Heights Rd. About half a mile, after crossing S George St., Leader Heights Rd. turns into Indian Rock Dam Rd. Follow Indian Rock Dam Rd. approx. 2 miles. Turn left onto Croll School Rd. Turn right onto Days Mill Rd. Follow approx. 1 mile to parking lot.
